All are welcome. This full moon day honors the great sage Vyasa, who gathered all the Vedic hymns existent during his times and divided them into four parts based on their use in sacrificial rites. He taught them to his four disciples. This day is considered sacred for both ascetics and students of Vedic studies. On this day, people worship or honor their gurus or teachers, especially the spiritual preceptors.

"JANMASTAMI", Birthday of Lord Krishna, will be celebrated with an outdoor program of garlanding of statues of Krishna in Santodyan, Garden of Saints, followed by an indoor program of meditation, devotional singing & worship. Prasad/refreshments will be served in the Assembly Room. You along with your friends and family members are cordially invited to attend this service.

A public celebration will be held at the Vedanta Society of Sacramento from 7:30 until 9 p.m. on Saturday, August 11th at 1337 Mission Avenue in Carmichael.
